Reid has developed a few curls over the past week. We thought they were temporary, and that if we bathed him, the would go away...maybe his hair had just dried funny one night...not so. It seems like every day I wake to find more. One particular on the top of his head....
And, one night I went to make sure the girls were brushing their teeth, and not playing around, and I found this....and yes, 2 minutes later, I heard the thud...(dont worry, no big injuries to report)

Disney anyone?
This time of the year is the BEST for going to Disney. Crowds are gone, air is cooler, it couldnt get better. The girls are all in school, so I decided to join a friend one day and take our boys. It was perfect. We even got a chance to ride Space Mountain while we took turns watching the boys. I love Fall.
I promised the girls a picture of the castle...they were a little jealous they couldn't make it...

Some quick pictures of the 50's night ice cream social...
My husband...the hula-hoop champion!
Beloved Br. Clark and his version on the "Macarena"
Chloe and Parker...I think they were more wrestling than dancing...
Reid spent the majority of the time running around pretending to dance with his sisters

Fall just might be around the corner
It was so beautiful out this weekend, they actually enjoyed being outside longer than 5 minutes. And, most of these pictures are of them catching lovebugs (if any of you KNOW my girls, you know that this is HUGE)

End of summer
Labor Day always marks the official end of summer. This Labor Day, we had planned to take the kids up north and go tubing. I packed our bags, packed lunches, and off we went. We were stopping first to "pick up uncle Ben" at Disney where Mackenzie works. But, in reality, Bryan surprised all of us with a day at Disney's water park Typhoon Lagoon! We had an amazing time. The crowds were...well, non existent. We were able to do so much since the kids are big and going down water slides was so much fun to them! Reid even got in his own little tube and went down a slide by himself! His favorite was the lazy river though. Both times we went, he fell asleep! Of course, having a camera in a water park is not an easy task, so no pictures of the action were taken. But, I did manage to get a couple as we were leaving! Just another day proving how amazing of a husband/father we have!
School
Summer came and went so fast this year. I remember at the very beginning, when all the kids were fighting, thinking how am I going to last all summer? And then, before we knew it, we were shopping for school supplies. This year is a BIG year. We have a 3rd grader, 2nd grader, and Kindergartner! That means, I am home for 7 hours a day with my handsome little man! AND, this year...the girls are BUS RIDERS! And they couldn't be more excited about it!

That's what happens when you have a boy....
I knew it was only a matter of time....
Hana was 9 months when she split her head open...
Maddison was 10 months when she split her eyebrow open....
Chloe was almost 3 when she split her lip open....
Reid has joined the club at 14 months....and it was by far the hardest one to deal with.
Sunday afternoon, the girls were playing in their room and I was playing with Reid. I was chasing him around, playing peek-a-boo around the corners, when I came around a corner, scared him, and he turned to run and instead tripped and fell and hit his head on the brick-lined corner of the doorway. As soon as I heard the thump, I knew. I picked him up so fast and saw it all happen slowly....first the forehead grew slowly, the gash was there, but not bleeding yet...he cried for about 5 seconds...and then it came...the blood. I tried to clean him up. I threw him in the car, and drove to the ER. Sobbing the WHOLE WAY. I called my mom because I was beside myself. I wasn't so worried about him, but felt horrible! Something in me decided not to drive 45 minutes to the childrens hospital, but go to the local one 10 minutes away, which is always packed. I kept looking back in the rear-view mirror and sobbing. Reid was sitting there, talking and happy, but blood everywhere. We got to the ER and not a single person waiting. Some kid mentioned to me on the way in that he looked like a cartoon or like he had fake makeup on him. They cleaned him up. Made sure he didn't have a concussion, and that was it. He had one spot right on the top of the cut that looked deep enough for glue or stitches, but since he put up such a fight to clean it, they said they wouldn't bother. It wouldnt have made a difference. But the rest of it was superficial enough that it would heal on its own. Big sigh of relief. But, I still couldnt look at this little boy with a huge golf ball sticking out of his head without crying!
So, now, only 3 days later, and he looks great! Until he fell this morning and split the top open again. I still feel horrible. I know he is a boy, and this was an accident and it is going to happen again, but I just keep thinking to myself, if I hadnt scared him....
oh well, at least he will have a cool scar....

3 days later....

It's summer...
...which means....
you can't walk through a room in the house without tripping over a toy....
it constantly looks like a toy store threw up in my home....
all of the sheets and blankets are missing from the linen closet in order for houses and forts to be built....

...but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Some summer
31
Bryan makes a point of taking me away for my birthday. It has become a wonderful tradition that I hope never ends! And, since we don't do gifts, this is perfect. We decided that since last month we were able to spend time at a B&B, camping would be fun! And I was ok with it. I love camping. So, we went up to Stone Mountain, GA. We left early Friday morning, kids still sleeping, Taylor Clark asleep on our couch, and headed up to Atlanta. Bryan really wanted to see the Brave's play, but there was no home game over the weekend, but we stopped at Turner Field anyway just to look. We got there just in time. A tour of the place was starting in 3 minutes! So, we took the tour and got all the inside scoop on everything. The whole time, Bryan was saying how he cant wait to take Reid to game!

After TF, we went to Stone Mountain to find our campsite. The original one we went to had too many kids around. I asked for a new site, saying as I had just left 4 kids at home, the last thing I wanted was to have a bunch of roudy kids outside my camp site! We ended up getting a nice, quiet, peaceful, private site. It was perfect.
The rest of the time there was spent tubing down the Chattahoochee, hiking up the mountain, and lots of other things. We had a blast. We always do when we are together. Loved every minute of it and cant wait to see what adventures are in store next year!
